Cleveland’s C.C. Sabathia won the A.L Cy Young award for stellar pitching during the regular season, so congratulations to him and the Indians’ fan base. Beckett will be remembered as baseball’s best pitcher in 2007, nonetheless, because of his entire “body of work” in the regular season, playoffs and World Series. Most people baseball fans remember that both of the “Sabathia vs. Beckett” games in the ALCS went to Beckett, and that Beckett was given the MVP award for that series as a result. We doubt that Beckett, here enjoying life at GameOn! sportsbar in Fenway Park after the Sox clinched the A.L. East, is lamenting his runner-up finish in the Cy Young Award voting.
It’s all good!
