Sometimes you forget why you hate the Yankees so much. Last night’s game was an easy reminder.
The Yanks won in walk-off fashion at Yankee Stadium. The same fans who had been pouting a few innings before (when their team was down by just 2 runs) ended up deliriously happy. A-Rod hit an HR to bring them back, and Mark Texieira’s HR was the game-ender.
Later in the evening, the Yanks’ #1 nemesis–the Red Sox–lost for the second time in two games in their divisional series. Of those Sox fans, many are YH’ers.
To make matters worse, the Yankees have obliterated the Top 10 list that was posted on this site a few days ago. All of the things that have been true in the past are not true in 2009. At least not yet.
And that is the word that all of us Yankee Haters have to hang on: “yet”. This team will be considered a failure if it does not win it all. And they are flying high right now.
But they also have farther to fall. So perhaps there is hope after all.
